At Fernbrooke State School, we offer a school-based Pre-Prep Program. This program is designed to support students with their transition into school. It is run over 3 terms (Term 2, 3 and 4) and is available to students aged between 3 and 4 years old starting school the following year.
Perry's Pre-Prep Program involes students attending a classroom environment one day a week for a 2 hour period 8:30am-10:30am. During this time, children participate ina variety of learning experiences designed to prepare them for Prep. Currently, we have 2 Pre-Prep classes (Tuesday and Thursday mornings) which is led by 2 of our Prep teachers (Mrs Angela Shand and Miss Cassie Otto).
At Pre-Prep, your child will be valued and supported in a safe, challenging and supportive environment that encourages participation and enables them to begin their learning journey. The Pre-Prep team value play as an important learning instrument, which they implement into their teaching. Play is intrinsically motivating, promotes learning and enables children to gain further skills that will assist in their physical, emotional, cognitive and social development. The Pre-Prep children have access to a wide range of learning resources. Learning experiences implemented cater for visual kinesthetic, auditory, experiential and and cooperative learners.
