At Fernbrooke State School, we offer a school-based Pre-Prep Program. This program is designed to support students with their transition into school. It is run over 3 terms (Term 2, 3 and 4) and is available to students aged between 3 and 4 years old starting school the following year.
Perry's Pre-Prep Program involves students attending a classroom environment one day a week for a 2-hour period 8:30am-10:30am. During this time, children participate in a variety of learning experiences designed to prepare them for Prep. Currently, we run our Pre-Prep program on Thursday mornings.
At Pre-Prep, your child will be valued and supported in a safe environment that encourages participation and enables them to begin their learning journey. The Pre-Prep team value play as an important learning instrument, which they implement into their teaching. Play is intrinsically motivating, promotes learning and enables children to gain further skills that will assist in their physical, emotional, cognitive and social development. The Pre-Prep children have access to a wide range of learning resources. Learning experiences implemented cater for visual kinaesthetic, auditory, experiential and co-operative learners.
