Welcome to Fernbrooke State School.
Fernbrooke State School opened in 2017. Since its opening, Fernbrooke State School has developed a positive reputation within the local and broader community. There is a strong focus on providing the students with a rich schooling experience where they will engage in learning experiences aligned with the Australian Curriculum and have opportunities to develop their social skills so that they can contribute to their local community now and in the future.
The focus at Fernbrooke State School is always on each student achieving their personal best and exceeding their own beliefs. Our community prides itself on our strong school culture, which provides students with a safe, caring and supportive environment where students are provided with the best opportunity to learn and to be their best. All teaching staff members work in teams so that we can collectively support and provide for our students.
Our school has a well-established inclusive education team that works with parents/caregivers to support students who require personalised learning support programs. This service is well supported by the Department of Education's specialist services.
At Fernbrooke State School, we believe there is so much more to education than classroom learning. Children are encouraged to become involved in the extensive array of extracurricular activities available. Sports and music have a special place in our school's culture.
We are fortunate to have a school population representing many cultures worldwide. The diversity of cultures is represented by staff, students and families. Having this diversity provides opportunities to learn from one another and appreciate the skills and knowledge we bring to our students.
The Fernbrooke State School Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students strengthens our beliefs that interacting appropriately with others builds respect, tolerance and understanding. Our school focuses on 'Exceeding Expectations' using the Positive Behaviour for Learning model. The school expectations focus on Safe, A Thinker, Attends School, Respectful, Successful - STARS. These expectations are discussed with students daily and are well signed throughout the school.
Strong partnerships exist between school staff, students and parents/caregivers. We encourage the involvement of parents/carers and our community in school life at Fernbrooke State School.
